It’s fun to look back on the two giddy best friends dreaming of opening a wine bar in downtown
Elizabeth City. It only makes sense that there was wine drinking involved with the 2 Souls Wine
Bar conception. Wine, and peanut butter M&M’s because that’s the kind of classy ladies we are.
Perhaps it was only a year ago, but we were babies back then. Star-eyed, clueless and super
excited.

Those 2 naive souls had visions of opening in “just a few months”, and those months rolled into
more months, and finally a full year. But I don’t think we would change anything about our
journey. Nicole and I learned so much and met with so many amazingly savvy small business
owners in our community. We needed that time, to learn, grow and prepare.

The best advice came from our fathers, both entrepreneurs in their own right – “Don’t Open Until
it’s Perfect”. And I have to say, Nicole and I are perfectly happy with everything about our
glamorous little wine bar on Main St.
